About Me

KIAORA! My name’s Alex Cotton. I was born and bred in Christchurch, New Zealand but now living in the beautiful Sunshine State, Queensland - Brisbane, Australia. Ever since high school I fell in love with wanting to be able to develop amazing looking websites. So I made that ‘want’ a reality. Currently working as a Front-End/Wordpress Freelance developer building sites for a variety of different clients. Main responsibilities include developing custom WordPress websites from scratch to match provided Figma designs using PHP, HTML, SASS, Javascript(ES6), jQuery, Node.js, Gulp.js and Grunt.js.

Responsible for developing custom eLearning web and mobile solutions for clients. This mainly includes developing SCORM courses that sit on the clients preferred LMS (Learning Management System) for their users to access and complete. Building courses and modules that needed to be SCORM compliant only allowed the use of front-end technologies which led to using HTML, CSS, SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, Jade/Pug, Gulp, Bootstrap and React. However, there were some bigger projects that allowed the use of PHP, MySQL and some custom APIs.
